Meet Chef Lizzy
Hi, I’m Lizzy! I found my passion for cooking through my mom and older sister. Growing up, we found cooking to be a great way to spend quality time together, exploring new vegetables and flavors. Learning together is such a treat and to this day, we like to go beyond any family favorites and make new, fresh meals, especially around our cabin fire pit.
My focus on learning continued as I graduated from UW- Milwaukee with a Bachelors in Middle Childhood / Early Adolescence Education. While pursuing my degree, I was lucky enough to earn a position at the college daycare center as a caregiver. Aside from getting to develop relationships and learning opportunities for the kids, I got to make fresh, delicious snacks for them. This was when I began to learn the balance of health and flavor in a kid-friendly way. With little adaptations to “kid favorites”, it is easy to get more vegetables into their diet and love those vegetables they think they hate!
Cooking for busy families is one of my favorite parts of working at Simple Eats. In my free time, I try to stay active bringing my precious dog, Penny, on long walks around Milwaukee, hiking and biking. However, I like to recharge outside on our balcony surrounded by plants. I also love to go out and explore new restaurants and establishments around the city to see and taste the newest flavors!
